Flash Memory Soon to Be up to 2TB in size

Posted by admin on Aug 2, 2009 in Gadgets

The SD memory card format has been around for a while. It’s gotten to the point that they re so cheap you can give’em/throw’em away. Selling commodity products like this certainly can’t help the bottom line of the memory companies.

Well, they are doing something about it. Soon, the SD and SDHC format will be replaced by SDXC. This flash card format allows for storage of up to 2TB, enabling a whole new generation of video camers to shoot more footage at higher resolutions.

Expect to see the new cards rolled out in 2010.
